We're looking for a talented font end engineer to add to our growing team.

MarchingOrder is a profitable and growing edtech startup that serves as the behind-the-scenes software powering graduation ceremonies across most universities and colleges in the US.

Think about your own graduation - everything from registration, ticketing, check in & automated name reading - we’ve been doing that for over 20 years for our customers who are some of the largest and most prestigious universities in the world like UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Stanford, Arizona State, USC, NYU, UPenn, and hundreds more.

MarchingOrder is a 100% remote company (and has been wayyy before COVID) and as such, we build in the open. Transparency is the underpinning of our culture and how we act as employees and how we serve our customers. We are on the lookout for passionate individuals that love education and are eager to drive growth and make an impact. If you're self-driven, and enthusiastic about pushing boundaries in the edtech space, we could be the perfect match for you. We are seeking enthusiastic SWEs with keen interest in education technology and software development, particularly in JavaScript, Typescript, C#,  ASP.NET MVC, Linq, SQL Server, Azure, and the modern Microsoft web stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the transition from AngularJS to a modern frontend framework (such as React, Angular, or VueJS) within our .NET ecosystem, aligning with best practices and performance standards for both mobile and desktop.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to transform design concepts into responsive, mobile-first web applications, using Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, and ES6+, with a focus on cross-browser compatibility and optimization.
  • Engage in the full application lifecycle—from coding and debugging to testing—while integrating RESTful APIs and ensuring web accessibility (WCAG) compliance.
  • Contribute within an agile environment to support the seamless delivery of high-quality software solutions alongside project managers, designers, and backend developers.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Digital Design, Web Development, or a related field, combined with robust frontend development experience in a .NET Microsoft environment.
  • At least 8 years experience leading frontend development teams with experience migrating to modern frontend frameworks (such as React, Angular, or VueJS)
  • At least 8 years experience with Javascript, Typescript, and other frontend languages.
  • A strong grasp of responsive design, mobile-first development, UI/UX principles, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD processes.
  • Proven analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating inclusive, accessible web applications, bonus points for previous ecommerce experience (Stripe & Shopify).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive mindset towards learning and technology adoption.
